The role of the Liverpool City Region Ambassador

The Ambassador Network support the aim of the LCR Apprenticeship Hub to raise awareness and increase participation in Apprenticeships.


What is an Employer Apprenticeship Ambassador?

Liverpool City Region Employer Apprenticeship Ambassadors are all employers who have recruited apprentices as part of their workforce. They are passionate about their experiences with apprentices and are keen to promote the apprenticeship route to other employers and potential new apprentices.

They undertake their Ambassador role (on a voluntary basis) by supporting and influencing their supply chains, other employers, schools, colleges/training providers and residents within the Liverpool City Region on creating apprenticeships. They champion and support marketing, publicity and events to raise awareness of apprenticeships and also mentor other employers with the support of the LCR Apprenticeship Hub.

What does an Employer Ambassador do?

  • Proactively promote apprenticeships to employers to highlight the numerous benefits of recruiting apprentices.
  • Act as a role model to promote and encourage diversity within apprenticeships
  • Share your experience, knowledge and skills and talk positively and honestly about the impact an apprentice has made within your organisation
  • Promote opportunities for progression to Advanced and Higher Level Apprenticeships
  • Promote apprenticeships at job fairs, skills shows and events and speak about your experience as an advocate of apprenticeships.

What support will an Employer Ambassador receive?

  • Be part of a network of Employer Apprenticeship Ambassadors across Liverpool City Region
  • Direct links from the LCR Apprenticeship Hub’s website to your website, so anyone interested in your company can immediately click through to your site, to find out more about the company.
  • A Tweet and Facebook post on our social media channels during National Apprenticeship Week 2018 showcasing your role, as an Employer Apprenticeship Ambassador, and your organisation.

What is an Apprentice Ambassador?

An Apprentice Ambassador is someone who inspires others to want to be an apprentice. Typically an Apprentice Ambassador will be someone who is currently an apprentice, about to complete their Apprenticeship or has recently finished. or is.

Ambassadors must be passionate about promoting Apprenticeships to others and be able to commit to supporting around 3-4 events per year.

What does an Ambassador do?

  • Proactively promote apprenticeships to employers to highlight the numerous benefits of recruiting apprentices.
  • Support and influence the provision of information, advice and guidance for young people.
  • Act as a role model to promote and encourage diversity within apprenticeships
  • Share your experience, knowledge and skills and talk positively and honestly about your apprenticeship journey to inspire others
  • Promote the benefits and opportunities that apprenticeships provide
  • Promote opportunities for progression to Advanced and Higher Level Apprenticeships
  • Act as a role model to promote and encourage diversity within Apprenticeships.
  • Visit schools, job fairs and events and speak about your experience as an apprentice.

What support will an Apprenticeship Ambassador receive?

  • Undertake a short training and induction course into the Apprenticeship Ambassador programme
  • Be provided with a resource pack of materials to support you in presenting the information to schools
  • Be given ongoing support by your existing employer and /training provider/ college.
  • Be able to share your experiences and learn from other Apprenticeship Ambassadors.
  • Have access to ongoing training to support individual needs
  • Be part of a network of Apprentice Ambassadors across Liverpool City Region
  • Receive travel and subsistence to support events
