Skills Show generates sharp peak in Apprenticeship interest from school pupils & parents

Apprenticeships provider, Mode Training has hailed the LCR Skills Show a resounding success after a sharp increase in interest for their Apprenticeships and Study Programmes.

The Liverpool city centre learning provider offer a wide range of training courses and skills development programmes including Apprenticeships, Study Programmes, and private courses in DJ Skills, Music Production, Hair and Make Up, Customer Service and Business Administration. They exhibited along with 100 others at Skills Show and are delighted with the positive returns.

Buzzing

From the minute the event opened, the Mode Training stand was buzzing with interest from school pupils and other visitors, thanks to the high energy positivity of the team, and all the preparation that went in to making the day a success. Their stand featured DJ decks to try your hand at, and housed the event’s only selfie mirror so people could take pictures away with them. There was also the chance for individuals to have their hair styled and watch live demonstrations by experienced professionals.

Apprenticeship interviews

Mode received hundreds of visitors on the day, and registered over 200 individual enquiries from school pupils in years 9, 10, 11 and 6th form. All these young people have requested an invitation to forthcoming Mode open days. In addition, their parents were invited to an information evening held at Mode’s training centre on the evening following the Skills Show. This in itself has resulted in 10 young people booked in for interviews for current Apprenticeship vacancies with local businesses, and an additional 6 individuals booked to start on Study Programme shortly in preparation for progressing onto an Apprenticeship. Many more booked interviews and apprenticeship starts are expected once everyone who expressed an interest at the Skills Show have attended one of Mode’s open days. What a fantastic result!

Schools buy-in

Debbie Tagoe, director and owner of Mode Training was impressed by the sheer volume of visitors to the Skills Show:

“What a brilliant effort by the Liverpool City Region Apprenticeships Hub! Their detailed planning and extensive promotion of various aspects of the show resulted in amazing buy-in from schools. The pupils just kept coming! I don’t think we’ve ever exhibited at an event attended by so many of our target apprenticeship market!”

LCR Apprenticeship Hub Skills Strategy Manager, Melanie Dodd adds:

“One of the Skills Show’s greatest achievements was that it provided a platform to show off our region’s shining catalogue of Apprenticeship providers. Having them all under one roof really helped us all appreciate the hugely rich and diverse skills development offer they provide as a collective. Dynamic, student-focussed providers like Mode Training really helped make the event a success, and we’re delighted that they have received many more Apprenticeship enquiries by exhibiting.”
